Protecting electronics with a mono-material casing

IP67 by design, with no seals, glue or screws. Moulded from recycled fishing rope and net

AION · IP67 tracker casing · Surfact

THE PROBLEM

Tracker casings for cold-chain logistics are usually sealed with gaskets, glue and screws. Every extra part adds assembly time, cost and a point of failure.

THE SOLUTION

Three parts, one material

Three parts: a top, a base with lens and a battery holder. The casing reaches IP67 without gaskets, screws or metal fasteners, is designed for automated assembly, and can be repaired or recycled as a single material.

THE VALUE

67%

shorter assembly time

Three parts, no gaskets, no screws or metal fasteners

Against the previous casing, assembly takes a third of the time and production costs 45% less. There are fewer parts to make and nothing to seal or fasten.
